Hotel Nazionale

Despite the many positive reviews (not verified of course) this hotel has as its only positive data the central location. Structured on the first and second floors, it does not have a lift and they are careful not to say it. If you have mobility problems you have to go up and down steep stairs with luggage. The room we were assigned overlooks a vile cloister, unspeakably soiled with guano and smelly. Cannot open the window, no air exchange. You have to use a noisy air conditioning even at night. Breakfast, just passable, is served in a small room on the mezzanine, then back up and down the stairs.

Stunning hotel in the heart of Ferrara, brand new, spacious, and very clean rooms; we occupied two rooms. It overlooks the street, which can sometimes be a bit noisy, but the windows are very soundproof and you can't hear anything. The breakfast is varied and abundant, and the staff is kind. Highly recommended.

In the evening I took a shower in the hotel, not realizing that the shower tray was completely smooth: I slipped and violently hit my head and left side of my body, ending up in the hospital for 6 hours in code blue for a head trauma. The next morning I reported again what happened at the hotel, already notified the night before by my partner. The response received was disappointing: no empathy, no excuse for what happened. The staff played down the seriousness of the situation, claiming it was the first time it had happened (which I doubt, given the obvious danger of the shower tray), simply saying that they would report it, hastily liquidating me. I find the staff unprofessional and the attitude of the hotel highly worrying, especially for the lack of management of such an obvious risk. I hope this review will help prevent someone else from finding themselves in the same situation as me, or worse.
