Hotel La Meridiana

A dated but well-maintained property, entering the breakfast room feels like being in the movie Dirty Dancing. The lady who manages it is exquisite and super helpful.

If you ask a true Brisighella local, they will tell you that Hotel La Meridiana is a place of memory; getting lost in the lush garden and walking along the course of the Lamone River represent a rejuvenation linked to the body and mind that is hard to forget. In addition, the proximity to what are now the former thermal baths of Brisighella made the hotel a point of reference. Personally, I did not know the property, but I had the opportunity to do so during the Brisighella Book Festival. A quarter of an hour away from the town center, nestled among rows of vineyards and with a pink facade that stands out among the rolling Emilian hills, Hotel La Meridiana is an ideal refuge for lovers of tranquility and, to put it bluntly, professional service combined with a touch of familiarity. Entering means taking a dive into the past, both from an aesthetic point of view—the massive presence of wooden furniture, armchairs upholstered in brocade, and frosted glass windows—and an experiential one—the buffet in the dining room and the generous portions, as well as the prosciutto to be sliced by hand directly on site. The tribute goes entirely to authentic Emilian hospitality. If the spacious lounges recall a vintage style, the bedroom can boast one of the most beautiful French doors I have ever seen; the solid wood panel separates the comfortable room from the balcony that looks directly out onto the surrounding garden. The continental breakfast is served in a room straight out of a Virginia Woolf novel; intimate and graceful.

Hello, to break up the trip we stopped at this hotel which is located in an enviable position immersed in nature, very clean and polite staff but unfortunately destined to close. Before with the thermal baths in operation this type of hotel with about 40 rooms made sense but now it looks like the hotel from The Shining, there is no one there. A pity because although old it is very clean and well managed but tourism in this place without the thermal baths is destined to end. Minimal breakfast.
