Hotel with good potential, excellent beachfront location and right in the center. Really small corrections and attention would be enough to make the experience better and worthy of a 4-star hotel.
Positive points:
- Perfect location directly on the sea and in the center; Piazzale Kennedy is practically next door.
- Quality cuisine, with excellent meals and a buffet rich in appetizers, first courses, main courses, and desserts, always restocked even during the last hours. There is no need to choose the first and second course: everything is buffet style. Extended hours for lunch and dinner (lunch until 2:00 PM and dinner until 9:00 PM). Always a good selection of desserts available with lemon sorbet and coffee cream.
- Modern and well-kept room.
- Clean and functional pool.
Negative points to improve:
- The payment policy did not convince me: after the deposit, the balance is requested immediately at check-in while extras are paid at check-out. I would prefer to pay everything at the end, as usually happens in many hotels. This method can seem unwelcoming.
- The pedestrian entrance at the back of the hotel, which should lead directly to the beach, is always closed. Access to the sea remains convenient, however, but this choice forces one to pass through the pool shower or the side street, proving impractical for those who expect a direct connection.
- Restaurant service too rushed, bordering on rude: I had my plate taken away several times just because I had gotten up for a moment to get something at the buffet. Sometimes they even cleared everything away, taking things from right under my eyes while I had simply stood up.
- Drink prices are high: wine starts at €20 per bottle, while water at €4 is in line. It is worth getting the drink package at €30 per day.
- Breakfast juices are often too watered down and tasteless. Perhaps more careful quality control would be useful.
- Parking at €30 per day, a decidedly excessive price. Considering that there are not many alternatives nearby, the rate is not very advantageous for the customer.
- Bathroom partially renovated and the shower stall is really small; it is difficult to move around in it.
- Air conditioning too high in the common areas: especially in the area with the sofas, where the environment is far too cold and uncomfortable.
- Little space outside the hotel to sit; a few more chairs would be useful.
Conclusions:
The cuisine is truly excellent, one of the hotel's real strengths, and the property (very beautiful) — together with its beachfront and very central location — contributes to making the stay pleasant. Some organizational and management aspects, however, could be improved: from the advance payment method to the not always practical beach access, to the parking costs. These are details that, if handled with greater care, would make the experience smoother and in line with the expectations of a 4-star hotel. In many family-run establishments, one perceives a more immediate availability and a warmer attention toward the guest; here, it would take very little to approach that level of hospitality.
