Le Fontane

This is a strange place that gets both excellent and terrible reviews. The location is all I will give as excellent. I suggest that the accomodation is closer to terrible. Greeting in reception was actually a damp storage room. Beside this was an abandoned 'dining room'(?) with smashed windows and a destroyed semi dismantled car. For the accomodation. No mokka, no espresso cups. We asked for a mokka but never received. Water was often fully off, and we had to ask numerous times to get it restored. Furniture is old but not unbearably. The kitchen is basic. Bathrooms are very tired with tired and shabby fittings. The pool is a nice addition. But the toilet area / shower/ changing area/water fountain/ furniture are all derelict and abandoned. The tennis court is more an abandoned concrete square, and should just be removed. It is unplayable, even if there were racquets or balls. The BBQ area is beyond saving. The roof has caved in and the grill itself rusted and full of broken branches. This place has potential if it was drastically renovated.

This is a very friendly and beautifully situated spot for anyone wanting to visit nearby Urbino. Ideal for families or couples, guests will enjoy the setting in the midst of hazelnut and fruit trees. We were particularly impressed by the warmth of the welcome - Graziella and her family make you feel very much at home and are delighted to let you practise your Italian! We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it both as a place to stay and a region to visit. Check out the 'Cucco' in Urbania for authentic local cuisine at reasonable prices
