Residence San Marco

This is a great choice of accommodation when in Trieste; centrally located, a 15 minute walk from the train station. There are lots of supermarkets nearby. The apartment was spacious and clean, kitchen was quite well-equipped and had both dishwasher and washing machine. Big fridge and a freezer. Wifi is ok, but slow at times. Both aircon and fan available. Reception nice and helpful. Negatives The bed was terrible! The most noisy bed I've ever slept in, making really loud noices if you just moved one bit. Really needed to be changed. The other thing is that the whole apartment was a bit dark. The were some lightbulbs missing, most notably in the bathroom, which was quite dark, but also in the big room. Not a big deal, but easily fixed.

We ended up in Trieste due to our cruise ship getting redirected there as against going back to Venice. Found Residence San Marco looking through booking.com and trip advisor reviews and so very glad we chose them. Rented two apartments for 3 nights and everything was perfect. Extremely comfortable, beautifully appointed apartments, very clean, thoughtfully done up, filled with creature comforts and amazing location - right next to historic and fabled caffe San Marco.

Second time we have stayed here. Great apartment, friendly owner, good location. We caught train from airport caught bus 6 to via cesare battisti. It took us 15 minutes to walk to centre but we are slow walkers. 10 minutes to the old town.
