Antica Locanda dell'Orso

A central location for a reasonable price. It’s not luxury and there are improvements needed but if you need somewhere to rest your head after exploring Rome then this does the trick. Our room was by no means dirty but a little TLC would go a long way. Pros: Great quiet location and friendly staff. Cons: Fixtures and fittings are in need of an update and a good clean!

Checking in after 23:00 due to force majeure, cost 20 euros pp extra. Under a high counter all sorts of things happened to our passports but we couldn't see what. We got the impression that it was copied, and that is not allowed, I would have wanted to cross out data, not a nice feeling, risk. Double room booked, got a single room with 2x a single bed. Our room was very clean and was cleaned every day. The toilet and bathroom were functional. Our room was the Elegance.he receptionist made us feel very safe; they were friendly and seemed like someone who would be understanding of our needs and help with anything. We asked for an iron, and they provided it immediately—their friendliness pleased us. From our room, we were able to reach everywhere on foot, and we used the Spagna stop to get to farther places or to return home. By the way, the hotel is also accessible by getting off at the Vatican stop on buses. We arrived by taking Terravision.Only the wardrobe could have been more practical, and the curtain was insufficient—there was nothing opaque like a blackout curtain, which made us uneasy. We managed to prevent the inside of our room from being seen by pinning scarves. Shortcomings: the pillows were thin, and instead of putting a duvet cover on the quilt, a flat sheet was given as a cover underneath. It felt somewhat lacking in hygiene.
