B&B Chain Gallienus

50th Ruined !! Didn't read small print about arriving B4 8PM arrived at 11pm after transfer delay phoned the hotel about 20 times with no response. No response on PHONE or at the DOOR. My wife and i were left literally in the street at MIDNIGHT in ROME. Had to search the streets for a new hotel. Went back to the hotel the following morning as we had the room booked for 3 nights and because we were late the 1st night they had cancelled the whole booking. So all our Holiday spending money went on new Hotels. I explained to the owner that i except the 1st night even though we were left HOMELESS as we didn't read the small print but to cancel the 2nd and 3rd without a refund was disgusting ( even though the room was empty). The Women promised she would contact Last MInute.com to get us our money back but it never arrived. That really hurts that they took are money and promised to pay us back but never did ( Liars )SCAMMERS stay away. LASTMINUTE.COM were completely useless as well. Didn't even try to help us. They could have helped us by telling the Hotel as i did YES the 1st night fair enough but to cancel the remaining two you don't need to do ( even though some of there phones ops agreed with us) The hotel had are contact information they could have phoned us to ask why we were late ?? or do we still need the room. But NO they just cancelled the booking took the money and left us in the streets.

First, you need to know that the rooms in the pictures are not the ones rented; in fact, talking to people in Via Domenichino 7, I learned that the beautiful apartment with paintings along the walls and wonderful imperial Roman arches does not even belong to the Gallienius chain! nor has it for at least a couple of years! Then, the woman never answers, the apartment she gave us was tiny, dark and hot, and far far worse than any hotel we ever stayed in. When we asked about the apartments in the pictures she said they were occupied - well, at least one she doesn't even rent! So believe all of the reviews that say it is terrible. It is.

I asked to cancel this hotel two days after the allowed time for canceling (with a full refund), as I was no longer visiting Rome. I emailed them five days before my booking was to start. Booking.com sent them a message saying that they would request cancellation with a full refund, but this hotel did not reply within the 48 hours that Booking.com "promised". After not hearing from the hotel about this request for over two days, I received a message from them asking when I would be arriving. I replied to that email and said I would no longer be able to visit Rome and was hoping they might be able to provide a refund. They said they would not provide a refund; today I looked at my credit card statement and saw I was charged the entire amount versus the cost they said they would charge to cancel, which I have disputed with my credit card. This hotel is, in essence, taking my money without providing a service, and renting the room out to someone else, getting double the cost of the room.
