Nona Dea B&B was a great place to stay for my 3 nights in Rome. It is walking distance from the Vatican (you can see the top of St.Peters dome From the window) and is beside a subway stop for all your other expeditions. From the time we arrived to the moment we left, Mairizio was an amazing host who genuinely cares about his guests. Our friends were staying in the 2nd room of the B&B, and when we told Maurizio they we were celebrating a birthday he got us a cake and surprised us with a bottle of wine. He really made the birthday special, and goes the extra mile to ensure his guests are comfortable. The breakfast, host, and room were all great, and would definitely recommend for couples and friends visiting Rome!

Nonna Dea is a traditional two-room B&B very near to the border of the Vatican City. While it may appear to be a bit of a walk from the traditional tourist sites, the apartment is actually only a 30-second walk from the Valle Aurelia metro stop, so you can get into the heart of Rome very quickly for around £1.15. The B&B is pretty much the opposite of a sterile travel hotel; what you have here is a genuine Italian home with plenty of character and personality. It's not ultra-modern, but it's cute and homely, and immaculately clean. The owner, Maurizio, who lives in the other side of the apartment, is pretty much the nicest chap you'll ever meet. Not only is he super-helpful with directions, information and ideas for places to visit, but he goes to enormous effort with the preparation of breakfast, which was top notch. Overall, staying with Maurizio was one of the highlights of our trip, so Maurizio, if you're reading this, a big thank you! (Tim & Sarah)
Other important things to note: the Wi-Fi is very fast, the Vatican Museum is only a 10-minute walk, the bathroom is shared but only between two rooms, there is a free car park near the apartment, Maurizio speaks very good English.

We stayed in June 2014 but that option isn't available for my review - probably because it's been over a year but we would definitely return. The host was fantastic. He provided an amazing breakfast and good information on how to get around. The location was a short walk from the best gelato in Rome (and Italy in my opinion) and also Vatican City. It was also easy to take the train to the Valle Aurelia stop and then walk down the road to the B&B.
