Bamboo Bed & Breakfast

We agree with the comments of the previous review - a warm, friendly and inviting environment at very reasonable prices. Our room was clean, comfortable and a good size, with a separate (private) bathroom - also clean and a good size. Norma will lay out breakfast whenever you require it (within reason !) - in our case, various times between 7:30 and 10:00. The location is definitely residential and a little out of the centre - but ideal for us as we were visiting relatives. We travelled using public transport - the property is 5 minutes walk from the Quattro Venti stop on the FR3 rail line and is also convenient for bus numbers 75 & 44. In terms of sightseeing, it's easy to walk up Gianicolo hill from the property, and from there into the old part of Trastevere. Sites in the centre of Rome can be easily reached via public transport (as this was our 3rd trip to Rome we'd already seen the central sites, but this time wanted to explore more of the old part of Trastevere). We had intended to stay for 6 nights, but due to illness had to cut this short to just 5 nights. The illness came on quite suddenly and was completely unexpected - and absolutely nothing to do with Normrobby. We had quite a worrying 24 hours but this was made much easier by Norma & Robby - they were very attentive during the evening and called a doctor the following morning - who came to the property within the hour (on a bank holiday !), checked me over, gave me an injection and a prescription and reassured me that I was fit to fly. This personal concern from Norma & Robby made a big difference to what would otherwise have been a difficult situation. Even if our trip had been illness-free, we would definitely stay here again.

Norma and Roberto provide a warm, friendly, and inviting environment at very reasonable prices. I was made to feel welcome from the first moment. I stayed for 5 nights and have zero complaints. The room was quite large, the bed clean and comfortable, and I had a charming balcony with many lovely flowers. Breakfast was laid out around 0800 with Norma available to make some items like eggs to order. If you are on two wheels, parking is available everywhere...right on the sidewalk. On 4 wheels, it will be a little more difficult. As in most Italian neighborhoods most everything you need for your day to day is available in very short walking distance. The caffeteria on the opposite corner is a wonderful place to start your day with an espresso or cappucino. The location is in a residential area so you will have to travel to see man of the bigger sites downtown but wandering around in this area is quite enjoyable as well. Many quiet side streets with small treasures to discover. I had a quiet, relaxing stay and would definitely stay here again.
