Castellino Palio Bianco

This review is aimed at the owners not the staff in the hotel. This place has four parts to it. A hotel, a restraunt a shop and a bookmaker. I was paying $350 per night in this 4 star, ‘’should be 2 or 3 max’’ for this basic hotel. There was no complimentary water, the two bottles in the fridge were 2 euro each. That was the start and it got worse. No breakfast included which was my faut for assuming $350 per night would include breakfast. There is nowhere to go outside apart from sitting outside the restraunt. They have a rooftop but no lift to the floor it is on, I was booked into the disabled room so they knew I couldn’t use that area. The first night and without knowing I had a few bottles of beer outside the restraunt. When my bill arrived, the bottles were 9 Euro each. It was only by accident that the next day I was not staying and got a beer to go from the fridge and paid for it at the counter, it was only 5 Euros. So, they were basically charging me a whopping 45% service charge to simply sit and drink a beer that I bought from their shop whilst staying in their hotel. My message to the owners is you are leaving a bad taste in people’s mouths penny pinching over a bottle of water and ripping people off with a service charge that has to be one of the highest in Europe. Stop feeding your insulting greed.

We stayed here for a night as a stop over to be close to everything in Rome . Perfect location the girls were friendly on reception and even let us leave our bags there as we arrived early and then checked us in early too !! Comfortable bed and great amenities. Only thing was it was very noisy at night not much sleep at all as we had to have windows open as you had to be a brain surgeon to figure out the air conditioning ! Which I’m still trying to work out how it works All in all a good authentic experience in Rome with the minor thing it being noisy but hey you’re in the city !

It's the second time I stayed at this hotel, the first time I had a great time and perfect staff, this time I was very disappointed cold room, bathroom door the underside swells, in the bathroom there was nowhere to hang a towel for the shower including the bathroom, all night I did not sleep for the noise of the air conditioning fan but it was just noise , I notified the reception but in the end they did not solve the problem, I had to shower in a cold bath, the room was not soundproof, at 4:30 I started hearing noises from the street , so between the street and the fan I did not sleep a wink all night, from the reception is not given adequate information and when you ask for explanations the answer was "OKAY PATIENCE ", AND ALSO TO SAY THAT AT THE TIME OF BOOKING I WAS NOT ASKED FOR ANYTHING ABOUT BREAKFAST AND WHEN I ASKED FOR INFORMATION I SAID NO IS APART , BUT I HAD ALREADY PAID, SO THERE IS NOT THE RIGHT INFORMATION FROM THE STAFF TOWARDS THE CUSTOMER, CERTAINLY NOT RETURN.
