I receive a request for payment via Sumup, not taking into account the tourist taxes I ask them to include in the overall balance. No response from them as to my request, and they cancel me 48 hours later my reservation. The highlight of the show, they charge 100% fees for non-payment (equivalent to 520,20 euros!) but the CB contact details were communicated from the moment of booking via their website. As a result of the races, they resell the same room several times by SCAMMING customers. Do not make any reservations at this property, even with tourism professionals they act like this. Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience at this hotel. Upon checking out, we left the tourist tax in cash in the room as requested and sent photos showing the key was returned to its original place. However, a few hours after we got home, we received an upsetting message via WhatsApp. According to the hotel, we had supposedly damaged something and should have known about it. They claimed a wooden slat in the central hall was off the wall and the wifi router was broken. We were immediately sent a link to an expensive wifi router on Amazon costing €138.07, a different model from their broken one, and a payment link for €168, almost 30 euros more than the Amazon price. The hotel claimed there were camera recordings but refused to share them with us. They said we were the only ones who had checked out, yet the hotel itself mentioned that Room 1 was also occupied by guests. Room 1 also had access to the central areas and could just as well be responsible. If we had broken something, we would always take responsibility and pay for it. But in this case, we did not break anything and there is no proof that we did. It seems they are trying to pin extra costs on us. It’s very disappointing how a nice weekend in Rome ended on such a sour note. For us, never again.
