We stayed one night here as we were going to a wedding nearby. Nice, clean rooms and a nice pool to cool down on a hot day. Nancy and her husband where very nice hosts. They have 5 friendly, but big, labradores lurking around, but they barely approached us. Scared the living out of the poor taxi driver though, so might be a good idea to warn the driver if he/she approaches the doorbell.

Rather than staying in a hotel in Fiumicino, close to the airport, we opted for this B&B in farm country, only 35 minutes away from the airport. This B&B is literally at the end of a road in a very rural setting. Rather than going out for dinner, we had our own picnic in the back yard, overlooking the pool. Nancy is a wonderful host. Her English is limited, however it was easy to communicate. What better way to practice your Italian than to do so who speaks enough English to help you along! She was kind to accommodate our early departure by serving us breakfast at a much earlier time than normal. The rooms are basic, so the price is commensurate with the amenities. Her 5 golden retrievers add a bit of levity to the stay, however she is good about keeping them in her own portion of the house, so they do not disturb guests.

My sister found us a B&B right out in the middle of the countryside but near Rome, architect-eco-designed with clean spare lines alongside organic olive trees; the sheer sense of space and light was so refreshing!! The owners are Brazilian/Italian, and really lovely people, and fantastic cooks, both (fruit, vegetables and poultry from their own place). It is run as both a B&B (and prices more than competitive!), or you can call them and book the whole place for a private lunch for a group of up to 20, and spend the entire day there. It made our 2 day visit seem like a real holiday - the pool and peace and quiet were lovely.
