Dependance Hotel Del Consoli

Wonderful location very close to the Vatican. Restaurants and shops on the doorstep too. Simple room ideal as a base for sightseeing, kept very clean every day by housekeeping. Despite being on a busy street was very quiet at night. Only deducted one point due to mouldy shower curtain and badly scaled up shower head, plus lack of tea/coffee making facilities. Please don’t think it’s a bad hotel, though!

We were initially disappointed as we booked the Dependance by mistake thinking we had booked the main Hotel Dei Conseil. The hotel has 6 separate rooms within another hotel a few blocks away. Checking in at the main hotel was easy and we left the keys in our room when we checked out so didn't have to trek back on ourselves.The bedroom and bathroom were sizeable, the decor was up to a good standard, the room had a fridge, it was quiet at night time and the cleaners were in everyday giving the room the once over. The location was perfect - approx 5 minutes away from the Hotel dei Conseil, St Peters Square, 2 McCafes, the metro, Carrefour express and some great restaurants frequented by the locals. We paid extra one morning for the breakfast at the main hotel which was lovely on the roof top terrace. We would definitely use this as a base when we next visit Rome

My girlfriend and I stayed here for two nights, once we arrived we did have to walk to a different hotel to pick up the keys. The walk was only 5 minutes. Location wise this hotel is perfect, it's just a short distance to Vatican City. There is a shop next door which is handy, a great restaurant next door and a cafe opposite for breakfast. All are average prices. The room itself was basic, there was a bit of dirt on the wall but overall was a basic clean room just a bit dated. If I were to go to Rome again I would stay here as for the money it is good value.
