Domus Inn

Wanted to find a place in Rome that wasnt overly expensive objective being "CLEAN". saw this hotel with some great reviews and it also boasted 4 stars. was sorely dissappointed - in fact i felt like crying. We had our 3 year old with us so you can imagine my anxiety seeing the state of the rooms. The room we checked into - the bathroom tub mustve had a slow leak which looked like it had been there forever causing a dark black moldy stain to the corner of the bathroom coming into the corner carpet where the rest of the room started. the linen looked tired, the tv 14 inch didnt work and looked like something out of the early mid nineties- havent seen a TV like that in a long time. the patio opened up to everyone else patio so people from other rooms could walk right by your room. so we asked to move to another room. the next room wasnt any better and the toilet was running wouldnt stop and the bath tub suffered the same fate as the first roomhowever didnt leak onto the carpeted room but leaked onto the tile the other way so i guess it was better than the first one. so instead of moving to another hotel we sucked it up,decided we were only using the room to sleep and tried to have as good a time as any in this marvelous city. I just struggle to understand how it has a 4 star rating and from who? I can gauge my expectations from ratings and with this experience my expectation gap was in the pits.

This is a quaint place to stay as an alternative to the rooms in more touristy areas. As 2 women traveling together, we were careful to select our surroundings. We only stayed 1 night here before leaving Rome, but we easily walked to Villa Borghese, the Spanish Step area and other shopping areas. Since it was a Sat night, and our room was facing the street, it was a loud, late evening as there were bars over flowing with crowds. But it's Rome - suck it up, ya know? I would recommend a short stay here. Room was lovely, clean and exceeded our expectations. Breakfast served in your room is very unusual for Rome but a great treat!

I really felt that the Domus Inn was wonderful place to stay and would definitely rebook it for future trips! My husband, my son and I felt that our room was lovely, spacious, clean and well appointed, with a delightful continental breakfast served at a time of our choosing in our room every morning; most importantly, our hosts were very congenial and accommodating to our needs. The location was also ideal with easy access to many of the tourist attractions. We, along with many of our other Trip-Advisor colleagues, highly reccommend this well situated inn to travelers as a most pleasant and reasonably priced place to stay when in Rome.
