Filiberto Apartment

We were met on time outside by a key holder who showed us up to the room and offered to give us information about Rome which was really nice. The room was basic and on the 4th floor of a private apartment block - lift provided. There was some basic kitchen utensils including a dunking donuts mug or two, however the tumblers were of the cheapest plastic on the market - this includes the bathroom, so nothing to drink our Prosecco out of.. shame. We were a mother and teenage daughter travelling alone and from the start felt very uncomfortable in the immediate area - our first foray out we met up with a local beggar, who seemed unable to walk until he managed to follow us back to the apartment (at speed) then proceeded to settle outside the building to wait until we reappeared. After reporting our feeling of insecurity to the main B&B which is almost a mile away, where your breakfast is served by a lovely lady who speaks little English, we were told the owner was not around until the next day and would be in touch, we left our phone number... we never heard another word from him. That night after I went out for provisions when trying to get back in - I had to squeeze past several young people who were obviously looking for a party in the same block and tried to push their way in when I put my key in the door, they obviously thought we were an easy touch until they realised the English give no quarter. We are no strangers to Italy and had already been to 6 major cities on this particular visit - we found this one to be the most expensive and the least value of them all. I have never actually given a bad rating to anything I have visited in the past and do so reluctantly but the feeling of being unsafe and my concerns being ignored by the owner has pushed me to publish this. PS the bathroom photos on this site from other guests are definitely not of our room at this property.. As for the balcony with next door's underwear flapping and the air conditioning unit was interesting to say the least. Finally there is a safe in the wall which does not work on asking where to store our valuables we were told that there was only us who had a key, oh and the owner, oh and of course the cleaner....

We spend there 2 days/nights, the room and the bathroom was clean, bed comfortable, furniture nice. There were a tea, sugar and mugs we didn't expect. We had a balcony with street view. Air conditioning worked :)

These Apartments are lovely. My sister and I wanted to take mum to Rome for 3 nights so we found and booked these apartments. Everything went very smoothly,we took the opportunity to book a shuttle with the apartments and were met at the airport no prob. The rooms were lovely and clean and location right next to the metro is spot on.
