Guest House Il Gong

Cristina and family were very nice and very helpful. The room we stayed in was spacious and had the necessities we needed. Location was good too, a small walk to the metro and on the way there are shops and cafes.

I stayed at the Guesthouse Il Gong as it was located between the main city and a client site as I was in Rome for a two-day project. It is located off the Bologna Metro - about a ten minute walk - so pretty easy for a straight shot into or out of the city. It was the perfect place to station myself and a colleague so that we were able to not only get work done, but also enjoy some peace and quiet after a long day AND be able to get into town for dinner and walks around the main city centre. The staff were wonderful. I had actually studied in Rome over 20 years ago and had very rusty Italian - Cristine helped me practice and got me back in the swing of things. As we had two rooms (and I got to pick first) I can attest that both were super clean with basic amenities covered. I appreciate how Cristine took the time to be sure I knew where everything was and was very quick to respond to questions (we had to be onsite very early the last day so we made sure we checked out appropriately). She also gave recommendations for the area and the cafe nearby was fantastic for breakfast. Who do I recommend the Guesthouse Il Gong to? People who want some peace, want to be closer to the locals, but also would like quick access to the public transport. The vibe is relaxed and homey, so I felt part of the city - even if it was only a quick visit. I'd definitely recommend the place and hope to return for longer next time.

Me and my two sisters stayed here for 3 days for us to explore Rome, it was my third time in the city and i was so excited to show my sisters around it all. We booked the biggest room they had, we consisted of two double beds, a bathroom and a sitting area with a sofa. We also had our own entrance into the property. I can't fault this property over anything, it was so comfortable, and beautifully decorated, Cristina was an angel providing a map for us and explaining what was happening all around the city so that we always had something to do. it was a 15 minute walk to the nearest tube station which was in the center of it all within 3 minutes. I REALLY would recommend this apartment, it was the perfect little spot for us, close to everything but not right in the center where it gets all hectic with the tourists.
