The hotel seemed to have had some facelift. I think it mainly deal with group visitors from overseas. Wi-Fi is pretty weak, breakfast is disappointing and if you do not have a car, getting around is not the most idea place to stay in Rome.

I reserved a room for my wife and two children. The AC didn't work, the shower had no door, the safe didn’t work, the towels appear blood stained. I contacted the receptionist immediately, he moved us to two separate rooms because he didn’t have any availability for four otherwise. The AC doesn’t work in both new rooms. The towels are very old and very stained two days in a row, the safe is not working in one room. I want to check out a day early because I’m disappointed and not getting what I paid for. The receptionist says she can not refund my money because of a policy that says cancellation, modification, or no show is 100% penalty. This is NOT GETTING WHAT I PAID FOR. There are homeless people around the neighborhood and hotel. There is trash all over he streets around the hotel. This was a bad choice. The website does not reflect the reality. Americans especially, watch out. I’ve lived in Europe 12 years and am checking out a day early because of the conditions. I am not getting my money back, very unfortunate.

La mela hotel was a great for my partner and I. The room was great and comfortable. The only problem was with our bathroom as the previous people staying in left a lovely treat on the toilet brush for us leaving a smell the whole time we were there..... we were too embarrassed to go down and mention it in case they thought it was us 😂
Breakfast was great every morning with a selection of drinks and food. There was always a little variety of each of the things like different fillings in the croissants.
Reception was always helpful.
There is a bus stop down the road going to anagnina metro station. Buses run pretty regularly or it's about a 20-30 minute walk. When you get to the metro make sure you go over to the set of booths and get a ticket for the line (otherwise you'll be waiting a while) they'll call your number out. We got the 7 day pass which includes buses, metro, trains and trams in Rome for €24 each. Amazing price and definitely worth it if you want to explore a lot!
There's a swimming pool beside the hotel and a supermarket down opposite the bus stops and a couple restaurants.
La Mela was a great relaxing stay and perfect for a cheaper hotel. As long as you're not bothered about being far from the centre of Rome and are happy to travel 20 mins on the metro to wherever, then this hotel would definitely suit you.
