Laterani Suite

We had a short break in Rome staying at the Laterano Suite. The suite was well presented and situated close to a Metro station for easy access to the main tourist sites. Also shops and restaurants were in plentiful supply.

The hotel was in a good location, ( we are walkers and we were about 25 mins walk at the most, to see all the top tourist locations) the room was clean , the staff were friendly, however there was No English speaking channel on the tv, the rooms are very close together and if you have late night neighbours (or a crying baby) it made for an interrupted nights sleep. Apart from those minor items, it was very affordable. We would stay here again.

I had booked this through booking.com as had seen such a good deal and it was very last minute!! Our flight wasn’t due in until 20.30pm after being changed by the airline last minute and the last check in for this place is 20.00pm. I had given my card details and had noticed this only after they had emailed to ask me what time my flight was due in - when I advised 20.30 they came back and said check in is finished at 20.00 and to get in touch with booking.com. I called them and they were extremely helpful and called the owner - got an Italian interpreter and pleaded with him for a late check in. He wouldn’t have a word of them and took the payment straight away out of my account even though it says pay when you arrive !!!! I am now down €150 and I have just read on the actual website after googling it there is a €25 charge for a late check in which we would have HAPPILY paid! To say I’m fuming is an understatement - I really hope no one else gets stung like this!
