The property is located a few hundred meters from St. Peter's Square and just a few meters from the Ottaviano metro station. Very comfortable, quiet, and clean room equipped with all amenities. Extremely comfortable bed. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Sadly this is not going to be a great review! Apart from the fact this hotel is old, tired and our room was full of mould, there was a smell of raw sewage for 2 of the 4 nights we stayed. We booked the large round red room for 4 nights because we wanted a large room. It is just not nice, the bed is comfy and that is all I can say that was good. The air con struggled and took all night to get from 25 to 22 and then had to run noisily and constantly to maintain that. The walls around the shower were mouldy' the toilet seat a health hazard!! Holes in the floor. There is no where to put anything unless you want to put your cases in the really old and horrid tub within the room!! There is a rail to hang your clothes that had fallen off its fixing and was actually dangerous! The shower and toilet have a glass wall, if you like watching your partner shower or go to the toilet this place is for you!! Not for us. If the pictures load they will tell the story. The other rooms looked much smaller. On arrival you walk into what is essentially a shared space for MDM and other apartments. This area smelt of raw sewage, really badly! The smell permiated up the stairs to the 2nd floor where MDM is and into the corridor where the 'check in' desk is. I mentioned this to the staff member on check in, he replied that other guests had complained about it. His excuse at that point was it happened when there were lots of people in the building! We went out returned at approx 9pm ish and the smell was also at that time within our room. We then messaged on the booking.com system and told them if it smelt tomorrow they, MDM or Booking.com would have to accommodate us elsewhere there were no staff around at this point. The reply we received was that it was an historical building and to paraphrase this would be expected particularly after rain. The next day it did not smell we were told they had done something. Sadly the 3rd day of our stay the smell was back. We decided to let them know but not move as with only 2 nights left it would have been too disruptive to us and we were spending most of our time away from the room. I did tell them, I booked an historical hotel, not an historical hotel with a smell of raw sewage!! Sorry but this place is just nasty, avoid until they have updated and got rid of the sewage smell.
