Very disappointing stay – not what we expected We booked Hotel Roma Aurelia Antica for one night and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. We checked in at around 2pm and, because of the problems, checked out at just 4:45pm. We had specifically paid for a garden view with a balcony, but our room overlooked the car park and there was no balcony. That was particularly disappointing as these were things we had chosen and paid extra for. The room also felt poorly prepared for two people. There was just one coffee sachet, no milk, and a bottle of water was €8, which we found excessive. What made the experience worse was the attitude of some of the staff. We found them difficult and unhelpful when we raised our concerns. When we eventually left, there wasn’t even a simple goodbye or acknowledgement from the reception staff. We were really looking forward to our stay in Rome, and this was supposed to be a special birthday weekend for my wife. Sadly, this hotel ended up being a major disappointment and we left after less than three hours. I don’t normally leave negative reviews, but in this case I feel it’s important to be honest about our experience. Based on our stay, we would not return.

Last Saturday I was at the pool with my family, I found a very quiet environment and the staff was a sweetheart, very helpful and kind. Especially the pool bartender Francesco and the lifeguard.
