Michelangelo Vatican Rooms

We arrived late. The proprietor new we would be late. We had no instruction on entry to property and no one was there to help. The buzzer wasn’t answered and we honestly thought we’d need to get a taxi and find an alternative for the night. It’s also a bit isolated and scary. By luck a young man from an adjacent block could see our distress and phoned what I think was a different number and got someone. They had the temerity to give that young man all of the instructions and guidance to get us in the door and up the lift to our room and locate the key. Many thanks to the young man and none to the proprietor

Well this is my honest view Having read the previous reviews I am actually quite shocked! It makes me wonder whether to trust anyones views. Positive 1. Room kept clean Negative 2. Horrid location 3. During times when there is suppose to be a person on site there never is 4. Asked directions as to where the Vatican was, was just pointed in the direction of down the road. After a 20 min walk and speaking to various people, I found it. The Vatican is not 10 mins walk away! Was given a map (which I found unhelpful, perhaps I should have brought a magnifier glass. 5. You are given a bunch of keys for the building. One key for the gate, one key for the main door downstairs, another key for the hallway entrance to the room and the final key for you room itself. Never experienced this in my travels and I have visited over 50 countries. It was annoying walking around with all these keys! 6. Upon walking up to the outside building on the street you are greeted with an aray of graffiti all around. This place Is located in a graffiti covered area with high rise blocks. Not exactly giving one the safe feeling of walking around at night 7. Breakfast was the same everyday. Horrible! Dry toast in a packet, One custard filled croissant, an espresso and a small cartoon of orange juice and jam. 8. The view from my room overlooked a block of what looked like flats 9. There is no option to put on your rom door (outside) that you don't want to be disturbed. The cleaner knocked and kept calling in the morning asking if I wanted the room cleaned. I just wanted to sleep 10. The television was only in Itallian so if your looking for a place that has good satellite which caters for different speaking nationals... forget about. You might be lucky to find one tv channel tha speaks your language. I tried to use the 'change language function' and it did NOT work for me. I absolutely hated this place. Located in a filthy street. I left this B & B and went to another hotel which was fabulous. A five star hotel which was simply gorgeous to be in. I shudder at the thought of having slept in this place. B&B are not just money making places but you have to think about making your customers happy, being around, being available especially if Itallian is NOT their first language.

Me and my friend stayed here 30th September until 4th October 2017, it was our first visit to Rome. Vatican rooms is about 10 mins walk from the Vatican City, there’s a bus stop and taxi rank just over the road and very close to a metro link, shops and restaurants are all in the vicinity but the Vatican rooms are in a quiet location. The rooms are on the first floor of an apartment block, the apartment block is safe and is gated (we were given a key to the high gates). We were in the green room and it was spotless clean, fridge, safety deposit box, hairdryer, dressing table comfy bed, and the room was quite big, I really don’t have anything negative to say about it. Massimo who is there in his office from first thing in the morning was lovely and friendly and helped us a lot, nothing was too much trouble, the week before we arrived he arranged a taxi for our transfer to and from the airport, when we arrived he explained how to get to places, public transport etc, he gave us his card with his number on just in case we needed anything. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Rome is amazing. We booked all our trips when we were there with local agents and didn’t have any trouble. I cannot wait to go back to this beautiful city.
