Residence Aurelia Antica

Although the weather was typical August baking hot the air conditioning was excellent and the apartment is well equipped with a washing dryer and we had three balconies overlooking the old Aurelia Forte that is being renovated, to be a museum, I believe. We had beautiful sunsets from those balconies The apartments occupy the top floor of the building and the rest looks residential. Being a little way out of the city it was cooler and certainly quieter. The kids had a bed settee that was big. We had a king size double with great mattress. The pool area is reasonably shaded, clean water and nice and quiet. There's a small bar here too open some of the time for drinks and snacks. The wifi was superfast. The booking team were very responsive via WhatsApp throughout. We had secure access to the room via the Schlak app. The entry door to the block and car park gates have codes too. We used Free Now taxi app and the local bus and tube service to get in and out of Rome. We also used Lime electric scooters to get back from the Cornelia tube station, only a 5 minute ride. There are loads of restaurants in Cornelia area, a 20 min walk. Use ticket appy app to buy tickets for public transport. There's a good restaurant almost next door Arturo, which can get very busy. About 10minutes walk away is the Hop and Oak bar - good beer and food. We used the Todis supermarket on via dei Bichi, about 20mins walk. An amazing range of fish there, but a small-ish shop. Over 4 days we saw all the sites

Great location, very close to Vatikan, friendly and helpful staff, nice large suites suitable also for group of friends. We spent in Roma 3 days and really enjoyed our stay. We can definitely recommend to everyone.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly, and the breakfast on the roof terrace very good. The espressos and hot chocolates were excellent. The breakfast waiter was so helpful, he is also a taxi driver and took our group of 8 and all our luggage to the airport for only 70€. He couldn't have been more helpful, he is an asset to the hotel. The rooms are a wee bit tired decor wise and the single beds are just not suitable for two tall adults; short, narrow and hard! We did not sleep well because of this. However our friends who had the double bed said they were comfortable. Our room had a patio where we could have sat out in the garden, too many mosquitoes though. It would be good if tea bags and milk were provided, however our lovely waiter helped out here too. We didn't have a kettle either. We were within walking distance of the Vatican and the number 46 bus takes you into the city. One day we even walked home from the city. The gates are locked at night, so very safe, the street is narrow so you have to be careful exiting and crossing the road as the traffic is busy.
