Villa Farinella

We were 5 nights in Villa Farinella and enjoyed it a lot! Lovely housekeepers, great architecture, beautiful views, cleanness and freedom are expecting you there. You can discover the region and the historical city Viterbo. We will definitely come back!

One doesn't travel to an ancient city in an ancient country to stay in a cookie-cutter, chain hotel. Chances are, if you're reading this, you agree. The problem with selecting something more eclectic is it can be risky - pictures may be enticing, but the product delivered can be less than advertised. Rest easy. Villa Farinella is romantically consistent with what one might imagine an old-world home would resemble in Viterbo - grand, Italian architecture, entry gates to the property, stone driveway, rolling grounds complete with grape vines and roses, etc. Come inside and it still feels true to its bones. The furnishings are comfortable, but not ostentatious, and the rooms all empty into the common areas where guests can enjoy lovely views and plenty of natural light. The rooms themselves feel rustic, but not lacking, and the restrooms are excellent - showers with plenty of hot water, and strong water pressure (priorities for me) and other working, modern conveniences. Breakfast was delicious, and served by the owner's mother (who is delightful), and the overall feel of the place is comfortable. If you are looking for a predictable, yet unique place to stay when visiting this area, consider this option strongly. We enjoyed it thoroughly, and left well-rested and happy.

We stayed here for 6 nights in September and were genuinely sad to leave. We used the B&B and Viterbo as a base to tour the surrounding countryside and really glad we did. The House is superb. Really comfortable and decked out in beautiful antiques from when it was a family home. We stayed in the Grandmother's suite. The room was stunning and very comfortable with beautiful views over the 5 acres the house is situated on. Even though we were close to Viterbo, there was total silence at night. Our hosts Valentina & Maurizio were exceptional. Wonderful people. We felt completely looked after while we stayed. We were served a beautiful breakfast each morning with a smile. Valentina has great knowledge of the area and has wonderful English thankfully, as our Italian is poor. We got great tips on places to visit, restaurants etc. Valentina could be a tour guide!! Would I recommend this? Absolutely!! Thank you Valentina and Maurizio, we will be back.
