So, the hotel is basic and has remained somewhat anchored in time (which can also give it a certain charm). But the real added value has been the smile of the staff, always ready to welcome. During check-out, I suggested to the kind receptionist to implement a vegan option for breakfast, and she promised to suggest it to the manager. *If you bring your own water bottle, ask the bar to refill it for you; they will do it ❤️ Kudos to the breakfast staff, very kind and on the ball. When hospitality is provided not by the structure but by the people.

Another visit to the Hotel Metropoli in Genoa. This time I had the opportunity to visit the newly renovated rooms, which I find really beautiful and well done. The staff has mostly changed, but they proved to be extremely efficient, friendly, and welcoming. Even though I have a character that is not always easy, I immediately felt in tune with everyone. Breakfast remains one of the cornerstones of the establishment, with excellent local and organic quality products. However — and this is a "however" that I can no longer ignore — this hotel continues to suffer from two issues that are now difficult to accept. The first concerns the air conditioning, which seems to be activated more according to the director's climatic needs than those of the guests. The second (more serious!!) is the constant presence of mosquitoes in the rooms, which continue to mysteriously appear even without ever opening the windows. I would finally like to see these two problems resolved, because the establishment truly deserves a definitive leap in quality. Just as I would like, sooner or later, to meet this almost legendary director whom I have never had the chance to see. But even if he were a hologram or an AI trained in hotel management, no problem: I have been living in Taiwan for years and working in Silicon Valley, so I am perfectly ready to face new technologies.
