BEST WESTERN HTL PORTO ANTICO

I would like to start with the only thing that for me saves the property: the strategic location that makes moving towards the historic center easy. The rest is a total disappointment! Calling a triple room "deluxe," when a family of three people cannot even move around, is a pure understatement! Furthermore, during our short stay, several times we had to forgo the elevator (out of service) to reach the room on the higher floors! For what you pay in high season, this disservice in my opinion is inconceivable!

Location location location ! If visiting Genoa then the Best Western hotel makes a terrific base....situated very close to most things you'll be wanting to see. The rooms are large, clean and importantly seemingly sound-proofed ? The breakfast was a little minimal, however perfectly adequate. The hotel also has a superb restaurant the Esoticum opposite the entrance (try the pasta and pesto + the incredible Tiramisu.

It was 86 degrees in the room, neither we nor our daughters slept, that is the height of absurdity for a hotel! It is frankly shameful for a $270 room. Yet the site clearly indicated that the rooms were equipped... Do not let yourself be fooled by their false advertising, they know it very well since the beds only have a simple sheet. By the way, fresh water in the rooms costs extra, the tap water is lukewarm, and parking costs $27 per day; curiously, that is not posted on their site. One positive point though: the staff is very friendly.
