Hotel Astra

This is not a big fancy hotel but rather a small family motel. The rooms are ok compared to the price, location is good you can walk to all amenities (the town is small anyhow). The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room floor was clean however the bedsheet laundry is at a poor standard you could feel the blanket and towels are not very fresh and there was no AC. The place is under renovation and I believe it will get better.

The place is well located. Nice staff and breakfast. Rooms and facilities are horrendous. The room was smelly (fish) and very noisy! You can literally hear everything from the other rooms. A disastrous hotel! Try to avoid it!!!!! Really avoid it!

Base for Cinque Terra. Not a wise choice in choosing this hotel as your base. The idea itself isn't a bad one, however, we recommend spending a little extra to stay in a Cinque Terra town. You won't want to leave Cinque Terra, especially after dark, to return to La Spezia. Too far from the train station. You'll have to use the public buses to get to Astra. The staff told us not to return too late; we didn't think the area was the safest and not many spoke English. Hotel: You can hear every and any movement that those in other rooms make. There is no A/C and the fan is awful. No screens on windows. Shared bathrooms and shower.
