Really spacious old fashioned room in a grand old style hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful and dinner in restaurant was excellent. Not really a five star hotel though - paper cups in bedroom, average breakfast with no freshly squeezed orange juice. Quite expensive but good location. Young Marco was particularly friendly and helpful.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Bristol Palace Hotel, a true institution in Genoa. Over the course of my life, I’ve been fortunate enough to stay at legendary historic hotels such as the Mena House in Cairo, Pera Palace in Istanbul, Hotel Nacional de Cuba in Havana, Tour Hassan Palace in Rabat or the American-Colony Hotel in Jerusalem, and I must say that I particularly love these 5-star hotels that combine charm and history. And in my opinion, the Bristol falls into this category. The room was pleasant (though not extraordinary), but the hotel’s real highlights were its restaurant, its lobby with its magnificent elliptical spiral staircase, and its friendly and welcoming staff (doormen, valet, front desk and breakfast staff).

This was an amazing stay! I was there for one night as a stop over in between a long trip. The staff is excellent! I felt like everyone I met was wonderful. Specifically I want to highlight Vlad at the front desk who I feel went above and beyond to ensure I had a great stay. From filling me in about details about the hotel, to booking a dinner reservation for me, to showing me to my room, to following up afterwards to see if everything went well. I've travelled the world, and I'd say this was one of the warmest and best receptions I've ever had. Especially after a long day of travel, and I decided to walk to the hotel from the train station, 26 minutes in the heat, with one luggage and one book bag, it was exhausting and hot, and he made me feel at ease almost immediately. The stair case is soooo beautiful! That's the reason I booked the hotel. To see it's beautiful staircase. That said, the room was excellent. Very comfortable. I did the breakfast, and it was also delicious, and the wait staff happy, friendly, and helpful. It's also centrally located and made getting around a breeze. I stopped by the bar, and met Ivan the bartender, who was funny and friendly, and made me a great drink. Overall, one of my favorite hotel experiences. Truly worth the money and I understand why they are a five star establishment. Thanks for taking good care of me.
