I just left the property after four days spent with my mom.
The hotel is located in a very small village of not even a hundred souls who can be seen sitting every day in the same place, on the same bench, giving that distant touch of an Italy so far away...
The sound of silence dominates the entire area of the property for the whole day, allowing for breakfast on a terrace with a beautiful view of the village of Manarola below, providing that mental reset for those who live in the stress and noise of their daily lives, perhaps in a city.
The property is a typical family-run three-star hotel that does not go overboard with services but does not leave you with nothing either.
Breakfast features a small buffet that is replenished from time to time, and the staff serves you hot dishes and drinks at no extra charge.
The silence is so deafening that you can only hear the cutlery we are holding.
Its privileged position allows for front-row sunsets, always in the quiet of the landscape, which helps you contemplate everything better.
The room seemed clean, functional, and simple in a 90s style that might need some modernization (especially the shower). Perhaps, if I must be honest according to my way of thinking and my personal opinion, the mattress seemed uncomfortable to me, or at least at the lower limit of being considered comfortable.
I advise against leaving lights on in the evening with windows open to avoid (in the absence of screens) insects getting in.
Free Wi-Fi comes and goes in the room, but the 4G and 5G connection is there!
The air conditioner is discreet in its operation but was not necessary during my stay.
Everything is, however, compensated for by the view from the windows toward the sea and toward the olive trees and vineyards on the other side.
In the evening, you can enjoy the black sky and stars that take you back to when you were a child in the fields in summer, dreaming.
The "Luna di Marzo" is an excellent base for all needs for those who want to rest after a hike or just laze about in the silence without having done anything, perhaps with a book.
Everything is well served by shuttles that take you to the villages below and various connections within ten minutes.
The outdoor parking space is limited to very few cars, so it is better to book it if you want it.
There are no electric car charging stations, but the municipality has provided, after the only drinking fountain (before the ZTL), a free electrical outlet for those who carry their home charger in the trunk, which I rightly left at home in my garage.
The owners and staff seemed approachable, even taking the time to chat, exchange ideas, or give directions.
Regarding meals, lunch and dinner, there is an osteria very close by, seemingly managed by the hotel owner, where we stopped every evening.
Anyway, apart from the mattress, it will be a place and property I will certainly return to. I recommend it.
