We initially thought our room was clean. But...3 days in we discovered bed bugs crawling in our bed, crawling on the wall and when we lifted the mattress many more crawling under there! We alerted the people who checked us in and they were horrified. But no compensation, no apology, nothing from the owners. Don’t stay until you lift up and check the mattress!! Also VERY noisy with drunks outside in the park.

This is a winsome boutique, 1-star hotel inspired by 8 operas in a Ligurian Med vibe; it is NOT a modern, homogeneous place. As a couple we stayed in the Madama Butterfly room and not all have all amenities nor are services like the cafe and pool located on the premises. The main reception is located a short distance away with specific hours where other business is conducted. For late arrivals ensure you have contact information and phone capabilities. Do not assume you will be given a lot of info. This is Europe: you are not coddled, ask questions and staff will be more than pleased to assist you within their ability. Staff were helpful and friendly. We were provided with assistance for my wheelchair. There is no elevator. Towels left on the floor will be replaced daily; there are no “do not disturb signs”, etc., so it’s fairly informal. Our door was secure though the bathroom door didn’t close and there were no instructions for the security safe. The shower was extremely small in our suite though there was good hot water and unrestricted use of the a/c unit. Toilet flushed well. Wifi was fast. The vibrancy and street cafes outside can be a little noisy with the front units but not unreasonable given Italian cultural differences. The local bar is sufficiently distanced. The train station is walkable but book taxi services if needed. The level two cafe breakfast vouches offer some value. Do research first NO refunds; for over-bookings an offered apartment can be horrible.

Very well located hotel in Levanto, barely two minute walk from the beach and restaurants, local train station allows for good access to villages of the Cirque terrie, room itself was basic but clean, when we visited staff were not often there which made it difficult to ask questions, no free breakfast either but there are local shops/cafes to buy from. Parking also a little difficult to locate we had to pay at first to be able to ask how to get there. Overall nice stay would recommend for beach holiday or for anyone who wants to see Cirque terrie.
