Europa Hotel Design Spa 1877

We stayed here several years ago and when back in the region always used their evening restaurant. It was SO good. We were in La Spezia this year so bit of a train journey and they don't open the restaurant until 7pm so had to schedule to get last train back. We booked, turned up early and ordered our favourite-Fish soup/stew. We thought with Covid, shrinkflation that it would be so different. The menu was pretty much the same as 7 years ago and the price was still the same!! We had the largest bowl of fish stew to share since our last visit. We failed to finish everything as well. It was tremendous. The waiter was great and there was some good taste background music playing. We sat outside , where we always used to. We were advised a really nice local white wine and it is a shame we had to rush off before any desserts. Wort all the effort and will return ... one day.

Strong points are the abundant and varied breakfast, and the kindness of the staff, both in the dining room and at the reception. The room was spacious and clean but the bathroom was not functional: the tub used as a shower was uncomfortable, it was not well ventilated, and the door did not work.

Wonderful hotel in a place truly to be discovered, Rapallo. Spotless rooms, kindness at the reception, very varied breakfast and dinner at the restaurant truly excellent. I highly recommend this hotel.
