For me, it is not a Leading Hotel. It started with a substandard junior suite (broken towel rack, gap between the air conditioning and the wall, broken corners on the floor, no toilet paper in the holder). After I expressed my disappointment about the room, the staff at the reception said we could pay 8000 euros more for a better room. In my opinion, that is not how one acts in a "Leading Hotel." After that, we did receive a different room, but this one was very loud; you could hear everything from the lobby (music) and the other rooms, especially the ones above, as if the ceiling were coming down. Here, too, the only response from the staff was: The hotel is old and they cannot do anything. In my opinion, they did not want to do anything. No sign of management or interest. The staff at breakfast was also not always up to the standard of a Leading Hotel. Regarding our request as to whether it would be possible to get a different table, since we were given a table next to a refrigerator/cooling unit that was blowing in our direction, the cooling unit was merely turned in another direction reluctantly. Also, the lounge chairs by the pool had various stains. For me, these days were quite disappointing for the money and not up to the standard of a Leading Hotel. I cannot recommend it.

It's my second visit to the Royal at San Remo and I absolutely loved it!! From the moment of arrival I was relaxed and ready to soak up the vibe! One point I would make is there was no account for a returning visitor not even fruit or a food platter in the room and certainly no upgrade. I had to remind then I had returned since last year!! The reception team not on the ball! I was given the same room as last year which was lovely with sea view. The most wonderful aspect is the pool and the pool team who looked after me daily and kept a sunbed for me in my favourite space!! The breakfast room was another favourite each day and a great team there!! I love San Remo and love this hotel but would have been nice to be recognised as a returning guest!!

This grand hotel has seen better days and deserves neither 5 stars nor membership with LHW. The rooms are far too small, and soundproofing was forgotten during the last renovation. Two people cannot stand in the bathroom at the same time, and forget about opening two suitcases - it is not possible. The actually beautiful park and the pool area are unkempt, or how can it be that a dead rat is lying on the stairs at 9:30 a.m.? I reported these defects at the reception, and the laconic answer was: You only booked a standard room with a sea view - what are you expecting? Okay, the price per night was approx. € 700 … The breakfast consists of standard items and is okay, but nothing more. I will avoid this establishment and hope that LHW can do without a membership for this property.
