Best Western Acqua Novella

The hotel is located in the Ligurian town of "Spotorno," but it was a little bit outside of it. If you want to go to town from the hotel, it is about a 25-minute walk. However, a bus stop is near the hotel. We didn't use it, though, because if you lie on the beach all day, you are glad for a little exercise. Driving into town by car, well, narrow alleys and not really many free parking spaces. The market was on Tuesday. At the end of Spotorno, we saw an amusement park. In the small town, there are restaurants everywhere in the alleys, but we did not find a classic pizzeria as is usual in Italy. There are many restaurants where there is a lot of fish, fish, and more fish. You just have to like that. Overall, the whole stay was really great. The hotel was clean. It is located on a slope and you do not have to walk up, because there is an inclined elevator from the main road. We had the very top room and used 4 elevators to get from there to the beach. At breakfast, everything was there so that you can always find something. The scrambled eggs were the best I have ever eaten in a hotel. The bacon, well, it was okay. Overall, it is more of a smaller breakfast buffet, but it only cost 12€. For the price, absolutely okay. What I missed at the pool was being able to get beer and cocktails at a bar. I would have liked half-board, because they do not offer that. At the private beach section, there is a restaurant for lunch. Whether it is also open in the evening, we do not know. Just two beach sections over was the restaurant "Cantinone Mare". We had spaghetti with lobster there. Had to use tongs to get at the lobster. It was mega delicious there. You can also get a table right on the beach. Definitely try it out. The loungers at the hotel's own beach section cost 42€ per day for 2 loungers and a sun umbrella in July 2026. When you look at the other public beach sections, we had significantly more space from our neighbor. You can also see that in our last photos. On the left is the hotel beach and on the right are much more tightly packed lounger spots. There was a small damper on the third beach day. On the third and final beach day, we had to close the umbrellas because they weren't secured properly. The lifeguard on the beach just blew a whistle whenever someone wanted to open an umbrella. When I brought this up at the beach where we paid for the loungers, there was absolutely no understanding. The lifeguard should ensure safety on the beach. He didn't do that, because the umbrellas shouldn't be able to just take off in a gust of wind. Drill a hole in the pole, put a screw in, and the problem is fixed. We still paid for the whole day (2 loungers with umbrella), because we had significantly more space than on the other beach sections (where the umbrellas were all open). The seawater with the pebble beach was so very clear and super beautiful. We will certainly go to Liguria again. Whether we will go to the same hotel again, probably only if there is a bar for pool visits at the hotel. Dinner, meaning half-board, would have been great, but it was not a must for us.

Overall, a disappointment on multiple fronts. - The booking: during the booking process, I requested a room and was told they would do their best to accommodate the request, but they knew the room was not available due to renovations; however, they did not inform me of this during the booking process and I was only told upon arrival. I found this attitude to be lacking in transparency. - The parking costs 18 euros per night; I believe that for a certain level of rooms, it should be provided for free. - The breakfast: breakfast is extra and costs 12 euros, which it is not worth; drinks must be taken independently from vending machines (which make poor coffee, macchiato, and cappuccino), and I regret to say that the food is of really poor quality. - The pool is dirty, full of debris on the bottom. - The bathroom: As for the bathroom set, it only includes: a shower cap, a shower gel-shampoo per person, and a bar of soap. I would say that for a 4-star hotel, it is really lacking. - The room: the room was dirty, and in fact, we even found a centipede. The safe is definitely too small; for example, a tablet does not fit. The view from this hotel is the only positive point. - The advice: we were recommended the Vela Azzurra bathrooms in front, where we did not feel comfortable. - The location: the hotel is far from the center of Spotorno, making it quite inconvenient, while to get to the beach, one must pass through an underpass 10 minutes from the elevator, so from this perspective, it is in line with the hotels along the waterfront.

A pleasant return for the June 2nd bridge in 2026. Three nights, this time in a beautiful room in the main building (the oldest), with a sea view and two small balconies with two chairs for each balcony. Being positioned higher up, the sea view is guaranteed. Welcoming establishment, staff always kind. Spacious and clean room. Abundant breakfast but a bit "generic"; however, the dining room is bright and the view is quite nice. The elevator to go down to street level is a nice touch that avoids the climb and descent on foot. Parking available (for a fee). Agreement with the Vela Azzurra beach that allows access to the beach without needing a wallet. To reach the center of Spotorno, you need to take a car.
