Royal Garden Hotel

Our stay at this hotel left a disappointing impression. Although the website states that rooms have been renovated in some categories, in practice this appears to be limited to new carpeting and a new bed. The rest of the decor looks outdated and lacks the look you would expect from a renovated room. In addition, the cleanliness of the rooms also left something to be desired. The cleaning was insufficient and the general cleanliness did not meet the expectations you may have of a hotel stay. The wifi connection was also substandard. The internet connection was slow and unstable, which was both for relaxation and for possible work. Breakfast was also disappointing. The offer is very limited and offers little choice, so the day does not exactly start well. On arrival we were additionally not welcomed. The reception staff made an unfriendly and disinterested impression, which immediately created a negative atmosphere. The outdoor area of the hotel is also in need of maintenance. The garden looks neglected and poorly cared for. The covered parking garage is in a moderate state of maintenance, which gives an unsafe feeling, especially in the evenings. For guests who want to enjoy a drink on the outdoor terrace, there is no service. Drinks have to be picked up inside the bar, which compromises the comfort and service you would expect from a four-star hotel. All in all, the hotel radiates mostly faded glory. With a thorough renovation, better maintenance, more attention to hygiene and a reliable Wi-Fi connection, as well as a greater focus on hospitality, the hotel could better fulfil its potential.

Arriving, we are surprised by the beauty of the garden with its palm trees, its huge wisteria and the basin. Clean hotel, smiling welcome, very nice maid. We had a suite, large with fridge, dressing room, bathroom with a huge shower and full of small products. Breakfast with a great choice. Free parking and pets allowed at no extra charge. But especially again a big bravo for the garden..... it was exotic.....

The rooms are dated, with carpet. I'm talking about the second floor. In the bathroom a hair dryer with adhesive because a bit broken, with 40 cm wire (not practical) and that works 30 seconds and then stops. You have to wait before you can reuse it for another 30 seconds. Shower foam supplied very poorly, bottles that are enough to take just a shower and if they do not put them back in the morning, you are without shower foam. Thermostat not always working and it is cold. It's not a 4-star level.
