The Place - Black Orchid

My partner and I spent many weeks planning a special birthday weekend in Milan to celebrate my 40th birthday. We chose The Place Black Orchid as it was a spacious suite with a very stylish luxurious interior. I am an interior designer so the design and decor is a very important element to me. Having reserved the suite 5 weeks in advance and received booking confirmation,We then received a telephone call just as we were leaving for the airport. With less than 4 hours until our flight was due to leave the representative from The Place Black Orchid said that they had been having problems with their booking systems and that she could not offer us the accommodation we had booked. She offered us a hotel room in a nearby hotel, stating that it was comparable. It was not a suite apartment and therefore not comparable. She showed no understanding of how we felt and did not apologise. We could not secure any further accommodation at this very late stage and we lost our entire weekend including the cost of our flights. Very very dissapointed - do not trust this company with your travel plans.
