Albergo Firenze

We stayed here because we was attending a wedding and the location is perfect, loved walking out of there in the morning with all the restaurants in front of us and being so close to the lake. It is no frills but found all staff helpful, our room was in the loft with only a ceiling window but it was spacious, lots of storage,very clean, nice bathroom and nice and quiet. We choose not to eat here because of the local restaurants providing lots of choices. We did not spend a lot of time in the hotel but would return and recommend.

The hotel was very clean, the breakfast staff very friendly and accommodating. The location is very central and no matter if train station or port, everything is within walking distance in a few minutes. However, it is incredibly loud, even with the windows closed. The noise of the restaurants and bars in the piazza goes on during the week until 01.00/01.30, on Friday also until 02.00/3.00. In the morning you can not sleep a bit longer because the city cleaning is at about 07.00 with several cars and also the music of the cafes / bars already starts again at 08.00. But you can't have everything. Very annoying for me, however, was that I booked directly through the homepage and also printed the confirmation displayed there with price and my credit card number. With the reservation confirmation that came by email, I only skipped the date and so everything was fine with me. At check-in I had to pay almost 70.00 euros more. I then showed the very friendly staff the confirmation and, since he could not explain why the system had shown the higher price, I was asked to contact the reception the next morning. Said, done. There I was informed that I could send my confirmation email to the hotel, as the (!!!) prices displayed on the homepage and booked this way could be quite different. At home, I then looked in my emails and unfortunately found that the price confirmed by mail was higher than that displayed on the homepage and booked this way. So now I have had bad luck and am annoyed that I have not checked everything down to the smallest detail. Therefore, I recommend to all direct bookers: Receive an email from the hotel confirming the price you have booked, even if it is a bit more elaborate.

Lovely hotel in the center of Como, very close to the lakefront and a few steps from the practical lake center parking We chose an upper double room, with a lovely balcony on the square, a comfortable mattress, a very welcome kettle and a spacious bathroom. Excellent breakfast both sweet and savory. Also... they accept dogs!! We will definitely return
