Castello Di Casiglio

We decide on a few hours of relaxation and reach the Castello di Casiglio (Lunea spa). We opt for 3 hours with a relaxation massage. Beautiful, clean location with few people. Good relaxation massage, all for the modest sum of 370, 180 for the massage is fine, a bit less so 70 each for 3 hours... We will not return, too expensive compared to other locations that offer more.

Dreamy location and beautiful garden. The first impression upon arrival was very positive! We were welcomed very warmly at the reception and were allowed to move into a really beautiful room (suite) with a separate living area and a great, spacious shower. Unfortunately, the picture clouded over significantly during the course of the stay. Our first visit to the pool bar was a big disappointment. The service was very inattentive – drinks only arrived after a long wait (we ultimately had to get water ourselves at the bar) and despite a small menu, several options were not available when ordering food. The absolute low point, however, was the handling of an incorrect bill. Instead of correcting the error professionally, the bar staff reacted extremely rudely and aggressively. The price on the bill was simply crossed out and almost thrown at us, which is absolutely unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. When we returned to our room later, the next problem awaited us: The air conditioning was not working, and with an outside temperature of 33 degrees, the room heated up extremely. Since we were traveling with a dog, the situation was very stressful for us and the animal. Phone calls with the reception promised a solution. Since nothing happened after 45 minutes and housekeeping happened to come by (who confirmed to us that the AC was not working) and also called the reception again, it took over an hour until a solution was offered to us. We had already unpacked and were forced to move due to the unbearable heat. We were promised an upgrade, but the new room was a bitter disappointment: It was significantly smaller and very dark compared to our original room. The new room had a sauna and therefore it was "sold" to us as an upgrade. We did not want a sauna, but a room with a separate living area, which is what we booked. Apparently there was no other option than to move into this room, following the motto "take it or leave it." Conclusion: The property itself is beautiful, but the quality of service at the bar as well as the crisis management regarding technical problems unfortunately do not meet what one should expect from a hotel in this category. We are very disappointed, as the relaxation value was significantly diminished by these incidents.

Very beautiful hotel, well-kept and well-maintained. Small but cute spa. We were lucky that the weather was nice, otherwise at the thought of all the people closed in the spa inside, it would have been overcrowded. Dinner and breakfast were excellent, but the point that reduces my rating is the service. For the price you pay it was truly disastrous. Waiters who wandered around aimlessly without accomplishing anything. Too bad. Only breakfast was organized better with a capable waitress who managed the others well. Furthermore, on the day of check-out, the spa can be used from 10 AM to 1 PM, then you have to leave the facility. I also find this disappointing. We paid about 580.- for the overnight stay (without dinner, paid separately) and I think extending the stay in the spa would be the minimum. Too bad....it has many strong points, but these flaws greatly reduce the score. I don't think I will recommend it to friends and I won't come back.
