Grand

Loved this place. Had an old charm to it and the staff were lovely. Can't understand how anyone can raise issues with the breakfast, it had the most things to choose from i've ever seen! The view can't be beaten and add in the aspect of the view and you'd find it hard to top.

Shambles!! I always try to be fair, but its very difficult to find many positives with the hotel Firstly, great location, and nice views. But the downside outweighs this. Breakfast was hard going, we asked the manager for some toast, not much to ask for in a 4 star hotel, 40 minutes we waited, then was told they don't serve toast on Sundays & Mondays! There are no tea making facilities in the room, so to get some tea we had to go down four floors and walk a fair distance ( Its a big hotel ) to get just a cup of hot water, needless to say it was only warm water by the time we got up to the room. Apparently the hotel is closing for a refurbishment, but our taxi driver said this has been ongoing for 3 years. Friday/Saturday/Sunday the hotel was holding weddings, and boy did they play the music loud until 23.00, then you get the door slamming until the early hours. It really does need a massive makeover. I could go on, however please be aware this can no way be classed as 4 star

In my opinion, a splendid location, a "rich breakfast buffet", an imposing structure and a certain claim to retro elegance are not enough to represent the excellence of a 4-star Grand Hotel. I believe that details are just as important , such as that of a small double room , also for the many pieces of furniture , sold for 3 adults with an extra bed made from a sofa and found not to be comfortable , some toiletries not in sufficient numbers for all people , waiting staff with difficulty in speaking in Italian .
