Hotel Savoy

Great hotel - perfect location next to the lake and with multiple restaurants, bars and the ferry service all within a couple of minutes beautiful lake side walk. Hotel staff were all extremely friendly and helpful especially the receptionists, breakfast staff and Michaela from the bar. Room was spacious and very comfortable with high quality linens and toiletries. Free bike hire for 2 hours which we took advantage of and really enjoyed cycling by the lake. Breakfast was excellent with tables set up outside by the pool which was a wonderful way to start the day. Great selection of food at breakfast including a chef making superb omelettes to order. We totally enjoyed our stay in every respect and look forward to a return visit. Many thanks to all the team including the office personnel who were extremely helpful in advance of our stay with information about parking our car.

The hotel is in a beautiful location with several bars/restaurants all within a minute away from the hotel. We never ate dinner in the hotel but breakfast was varied and catered for all tastes. The chef making pancakes and eggs of any description is a great added extra. Our first room was on the road side which was busier than expected and my daughter and I were given a double instead of a twin. The second day the hotel changed our room and we were on the pool side which was so much nicer and quieter, with electric shutters which made sleeping brilliant as it was so dark and cool. Our only problem has been that we have had quite a few ants in the room and my daughter has had a few bites. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and absolutely nothing is too much trouble. I can’t express enough what a difference this made to our holiday. Everyone you pass says hello and smiles and they bend over backwards to make sure you enjoy your stay. It’s the staff that make the hotel❤️

A pleasant stay in this venerable palace, very clean, friendly staff. We had a room with a balcony facing the lake, flawless. The bathroom still has a bathtub, the lighting could be better, a magnifying mirror would be helpful, and the towels are changed almost too often. The prices in the restaurant are very high, the breakfast is extensive. The TV does not work perfectly. Despite the proximity to the lake, spending time on the shore is complicated; a nearby lakeside bathing area is extremely expensive, and a small public beach is very sunny and uncomfortable. Vouchers for boat trips are available at the reception, although we were not informed about them despite asking about the boat schedules.
