Ambra Hotel

Beautiful property located right on the lakefront, clean and spacious rooms, excellent breakfast with quality products. Staff always available and kind, certainly an excellent choice for staying on Lake Iseo.

We loved Lake Iseo, the island of Monte Isola and Iseo town. And we loved the Ambra. We spent a wonderful week there and would have no hesitation in recommending Iseo and the Ambra to anyone who loves the Italian Lakes but hasn’t yet experienced this largely unspoiled, peaceful lake and its charming lakeside villages. Our room at the Ambra was fairly typical of 3-star hotels in Northern Italy. Neither the room nor the bathroom were spacious by any means, but they were spotlessly clean and perfect for our modest needs. And there were two big plusses which made the Ambra far superior to what most 3-star hotels are able to offer. A great outlook and the best location. The view from our little balcony, looking out over the piazza below and across to Iseo’s ferry wharf, was very special, and constantly changing at all times of day and evening. The location of the Ambra – 100 metres to the ferries, a flat easy 10-minute walk to the train station, and just 1 minute from Iseo’s best piazza, Piazza Garibaldi – is simply the best in Iseo. And the staff are lovely. In particular, big thanks to Patrizia, whose kindness and helpfulness greatly enhanced our stay in Iseo. We would love to return to Iseo and the Ambra, and we hope to do so in 2027 or '28.

Location, location, location! Probably the best placed hotel in Iseo, 10 mins to the station, 1 min to the jetty for ferries all over the lake, close to numerous bars, restaurants and gelaterias. Clean, comfortable room, good overbath shower. Excellent air con and free fast wifi. Limited (unless you like pastries) choice at breakfast as you would expect from a 3 star hotel but perfectly adequate - fresh and dried fruit, nuts, cereals, yoghurt, cooked option, good coffee from a machine. Breakfast with a fabulous view over the lake. The area is virtually traffic free so very pleasant to sit or stroll. Overall, we found it excellent.
