Hotel Engadina

This was a clean and basic hotel more like a travel lodge it was run by a very nice people during the day nobody about in the evening except a porter. It certainly wasn’t a four star rooms are small but clean. Breakfast was nice. You couldn’t get anything at night. Very basic. But near to facilities.

I enjoyed the friendly welcome by the staff: the gentleman at the reception on morning duty was particularly friendly and helpful and also served breakfast in the mornings. I found the room and all public areas very clean and well maintained. The furniture is quite oldfashioned but in good shape. The bathroom was small but had a powerful shower. The hairdryer was rather slow/weak model that hardly did the job. The room also had a fridge, a safe and an aircon system („Italian“ style). The location is close to the lake (3min walk), the train station Como S Giovanni (8min), the train station Como Lago (15min walk) and city centre (15min) a Carrefour supermarket is 2min away. Breakfast was quite comprehensive with cold cuts & cheese, a bread selection, jams, chocolate spread, juice and freshly made Italian coffee specialities. Unfortunately, the traffic noise is quite annoying even with air plugs but the rest made up for it!

We stayed at Hotel Engadina during a stay in Como and the experience was extremely positive. The hotel does not aim for ostentatious luxury, but offers exactly what really matters today: cleanliness, hospitality, smart location and an authentic and relaxed atmosphere. The property is a few minutes walk from the lake, the center and the station, a really strategic element to experience Como without stress. Very courteous and helpful staff, always present with discretion and professionalism. Simple but well maintained and comfortable room. Also excellent breakfast, varied and plentiful, with a very attentive service. You perceive a serious and concrete management, focused on real hospitality rather than appearance. And this is precisely the strong point of the structure.
