La Limonaia

The views are beautiful, the weather was great, and the room was clean and tidy. The two men working at reception when we arrived late at night were very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, our experience was also very disappointing. We had specifically requested a parking space and a disabled-accessible room, as we always do and are willing to pay extra for this. Instead, both rooms we were given required climbing stairs. For us, this was very difficult and painful, especially as we had to use the stairs even to access the bedroom, terrace, bathroom and toilet. The worst part, however, was the attitude of the staff. The next morning I politely asked if I could buy some bread. The manager shouted at me and told me to go to the hotel shop. When I explained that there was no bread there, he angrily went to the shop, and the shop employee then shouted at me as well. Eventually, the bread was practically thrown at me, and he did not even take my money. We came here for a holiday, but unfortunately the unfriendly and disrespectful treatment left a very unpleasant impression. We would not choose this hotel again.

Everything was great.....absolutely recommended

Location is about 10 minutes out of limonie, there is a shuttle bus from the hotel or a nice steady walk down through the back streets. Beautiful site set in acres of natural Italian hillsides with it's own waterfall. Views from lake facing rooms are beautiful. We were in a room fairly far up the hill which would make it fairly difficult for accessibility for some people. Parking is difficult, we arrived at 11pm after 12 hours travelling and found a parking spot eventually but last thing you want after a long day travelling. Value for money is decent, the views alone make it worth while. Hotel we found clean throughout although many areas of the hotel do need modernising. We had to change room when we first arrived (double to a twin that was requested) and the twin we ended up in was much nicer than the older double room. Swimming pool outdoor is decent, didn't use the indoor facilities or spa areas. We found the majority of the staff extremely friendly especially the lady who checked us in spoke perfect English and was extremely helpful.
