ROYAL VILLAGE

Paid over the odds for a dingy, dark room from the 70s . View is fantastic but that is not the hotels doing. .sad excuse for a room

Just returned from a wonderful week in Limone, staying at the Royal Village Hotel. The location is fantastic, with panoramic views of the lake and the mountains from the pool area. It took us less than 10 minutes to walk down the hill to the lake and the swimming was fabulous. Limone centre is about a 20 minute walk away and there are several bars, shops etc and lovely old winding streets to explore. It is easy to get ferries to other places along the lake. We were half board and the food was excellent at every meal with plenty of choice. We never felt the need to eat elsewhere in the evenings. The Italian restaurant onsite offered excellent Italian dishes and a selection of wines. This was included in the half board option, as well as the main dining room. The pool areas were immaculately kept with more than enough sunbeds for everyone. The staff were friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The room, although slightly dated, was a good size and contained a fridge. The shower was good and towels were changed daily. Ignore the negative reviews. This was a great place to stay and we hope to go back one day.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days which were truly relaxing with a truly stunning view from above of the lake...we started off badly because the first night we had a gecko running around the room but as soon as we raised the issue they immediately accommodated us by changing our room to an even nicer one the staff is very kind the rooms are not huge but they still offer everything you might need and above all they are clean the outdoor fish-shaped pool is wonderful (PS the lifeguard is very nice) and the indoor one is also cute a special appreciation to the staff for the cleanliness of the rooms having moved the first night from one room to another due to the gecko I had forgotten my cell phone charger in the first room the next day I went back to the girl who was cleaning and she immediately made sure I got back the charger I had forgotten a sign of great seriousness and professionalism. The hotel bar offers a limited selection of dishes for lunch, but they are very good and at very affordable prices. The only flaw is the restaurant adjacent to the hotel called \"Italian restaurant\" there honestly we were a bit disappointed for the price of 70 Eur we were served a few appetizers, some cold cuts, and a bit of pizza but the main course of that evening which was supposed to be octopus we barely managed to taste because it ran out immediately anyway I would change the name of the restaurant because the only Italians there were me and my wife not even the pizza maker was Italian. Anyway, despite some small flaws, it is really worth staying at this facility. We will definitely return....but not to the Italian restaurant!
