Hotel Rio

Not the cleanest hotel I’ve stayed in, appears that it is quite worn.

Hotel located in an enviable location, central and served by public transport, as we arrived by car we parked 100 meters in the Diaz parking lot at 30 euros per day with the entrance area C at 4.50 . In the common areas it needs renovation , splintered furniture, chipped tiles, ballerina sockets, but on cleanliness and hygiene nothing to object to. The quality of sleep is sufficient, the mattress is comfortable but even if on the fourth floor the trams below feel quite Breakfast is full , scrambled eggs, bacon, oranges, kiwi, jam , toast, croissants and cakes, you eat in the small hallway or in close contact with other guests in a small room linda and bright, a kind lady strives to provide clean dishes and a good espresso We spent for two nights 428 euros including 28 of tourist tax and booked on their website, in my opinion an out of proportion but in the center of Milan I could not find better

Excellent location and I would stay again at the right price. However, hotel is tired and dated and a lot of basics don’t work well (opening windows, lift only accommodates two at a time, left luggage is open to access so did not feel secure). Breakfast, whilst free, was not extensive and not particularly well made (bread and pastries were dry, eggs unappetising). If you are okay with the limitations then definitely worth staying for location - super close to Duomo and metro and a great base.
