IDEA HOTEL MALPENSA AIRPORT

I stayed at this hotel on the night of 06/28/26 and had a terrible experience at the front desk. Although my company had already paid for the room and I had a confirmation email with the wording "prepaid," two young receptionists with an arrogant attitude kept insisting that the room still had to be paid for and that "Prepaid" does not mean that the room had already been paid for (evidently ignoring the most elementary rules of Italian). When I left the next morning, they didn't give me a receipt, saying they were having problems closing the cash register system. Luckily I had paid by credit card, so I presented the receipt to the travel agency that had made the booking, which confirmed that the room was already paid for and requested a refund to my card. If I had paid in cash, I would have been completely ripped off!

We relied on this hotel for our flight to Tokyo; the shuttle service is the most convenient and best thing the hotel can offer. The room is spacious, the bed is comfortable, and the bathroom also has the right amount of space. I would recommend a curtain for the bathtub with the integrated shower; I do not like having water all over the bathroom. We also had dinner; the osso buco was very good, nice and tender and flavorful, and the risotto alla milanese that accompanied it was nicely creamy. My husband had the salmon with vegetables, which was also very good; perhaps the service could be managed better, but hey, I am on vacation and they are working with a very hectic flow of guests. Breakfast is abundant, offering a wide selection of products. The staff is helpful and very kind. The hotel is clean and tidy. For us, it is a yes for future departures from Milan.

I give this place a so-so review for 2 reasons: first is the shuttle bus service which only operates FROM the hotel TO the airport (which you have to pay for). FROM the airport one must take a taxi, which I did and the 4-kilometer ride cost me 20 Euro ! I ASKED about a ride from the airport and was told no. This is unacceptable. Second reason is that the internet connection is poor. The room and accommodations were fine, clean, quiet, and comfortable. But having to shell out 20 Euro to get there with no assistance was quite annoying.
