Residence Zara

We lived here for 2.5 months while relocating to Milan with work. In general: Great location, well connected (close to yellow and purple subway lines), close to smaller supermarkets (to.market & carrefour) and a larger one at Gae Aulenti/ Esselunga. Very hip area with small streets & lots of restaurants or bars. Residence: We had apartment 12D, a 2 room apartment/ bilocale), at first floor - we would recommend it, as it was a renovated one, quite spacious and with all the usual essentials available, including a washing machine, dishwasher, small microwave. However, whenever possible we’d recommend taking higher up floors/ or apartments that have the bedroom facing the internal yard as the noise level in Piazza Lagosta is extreme (trams start early in the morning, and there’s very heavy traffic too) and also the mentioned apartment had older & non insulated windows. Another negative aspect, the fee for parking is quite expensive for what is offered (200 Eur per month, outside in the inner yard). We greatly appreciated the dependable, on time and great quality cleaning service of our cleaning lady (Mihaela, greetings and many thanks!). Mihela was very friendly (especially with our cat 😉 ) and very respectful; also gave us some pretty good advice about the area and living in Italy too. Also great reception services, many thanks Barbara, you were the nicest.

I stayed here for about 3 weeks for work. My apartment was very comfortable and very big (for Europe!) even though it was advertised as a studio, there was a large separate kitchen and terrace. My room was serviced everyday except Sat & Sunday. The staff at front desk is multi-lingual and extremely helpful. The location, initially feels remote, but Isola is a nice neighborhood with good restaurants, shops and a fantastic street market on Tuesday & Saturday. Metro stop is a 5 minute walk and is very easy to use. I would definitely stay here again!

I stayed at Residence Zara for 8 months and I would recommend it to everyone who needs to stay in Milan. The location is perfect - the Isola area is very trendy and has a lot of places nearby to eat and drink. The residence is about 3 minutes walk from Zara station (M3/M5) and trams 7/10/33 and buses which go to a lot of places within the city, but it's also very easy to walk 15 minutes to central station (Centrale) or Garibaldi. The accommodation is modern and comfortable, and the apartment was serviced every day of the week. However for me, the best part was the staff, from the front line staff on reception to the backroom staff and the cleaning staff. They were very friendly and we built a nice friendship. They went above and beyond what I might wish to expect, for example I fell ill during my stay and they arranged for a doctor to attend to me. I miss staying at Residence Zara, and if I am fortunate enough to be working in Milan again, I will insist I stay here again.
