I have never found kinder staff at a hotel reception: a sincere thank you to Silvia and Marta for all the helpfulness and human warmth they showed. The hotel is well located, in the center of lower Bergamo. We stopped for one night, before heading to the airport the following morning. Visiting a very hot upper Bergamo and after looking at many touristy restaurants in the evening heat, we decided to have dinner at Ristorante La Delizia, connected to the hotel. Excellent choice! Beautiful design, relaxing music, and above all, excellent fish and meat dishes and desserts, also well-presented aesthetically by the chef. Extraordinary for humanity and savoir-faire, Jorge served us food and drinks with courtesy and great stories to share. Sometimes hotel restaurants hold nice surprises.

Bedroom was spacious enough whilst furniture (desk, table & wardrobe) was modern & stylish. They looked fairly new.   Bed was uncomfortable whilst bend linen was dirty & stained, just like the carpet floor which was in desperate needed of a deep clean.   Breakfast was a standard continental type & whilst nice enough, was very small & limited for choice.   WiFi whilst free, was very hit & miss during the stay. Reception desk staff were mixed. The day-time staff were friendly & pleasant but the evening staff (man) was moody!

Hotel is very well located in the center of the lower town, could hardly be better. Parking situation in front of the hotel is not clear, there is room for unloading and loading. Hotel has a dozen parking spaces in a courtyard, to reach them you have to drive around the block (we got a plan) and then find your way in that courtyard and up a fairly steep winding short slope, all just feasible for my big car and the bad driver I am. Reception was extremely friendly and with a genuine smile and even laughter, the best we experienced at the 15 Italian hotels we visited this summer. Applies to all the staff, my wife was even angry because I got along too well with a lady who helped provide breakfast. You get a ticket for a welcome drink, fun and good attempt to sell restaurant... The room sober, spartan, with a small apparently impossible blood spot on the carpet. The air conditioning was too weak and too noisy. I haven't seen a roller shutter with a manually operated pull roller in a hotel in a long time. Good safe and good wifi. Bathroom was really small and showering in the bath was even a bit difficult. Breakfast was decent but sober, you get one coffee or tea per person from the bar, the others then have to get out of the thermos... For a 'business hotel' there are a few ridiculous rules : eg welcome drink you can choose from a few things that are on the menu for 7.00 but eg not for a limoncello that costs for 4.00 , allee ... And the fussy hassle of only getting one decent drink at breakfast. The slight resentment about it 'costs' more than the possibly second coffee.
