Terrible reception, a decaying hotel not consistent with the 4 stars, little cleanliness, dirty sheets, elevators that get stuck, and terrible food with no availability from the reception.

Four stars only on paper. Extremely disappointing experience at the Grand Hotel Barone in Sassj, a structure that looks like a 4-star hotel but that, in fact, does not even guarantee minimum standards of comfort and functionality. The room was characterized by an unsustainable temperature and completely non-adjustable: the air conditioning system operated exclusively on hot air. In order to make the environment minimally livable we were forced to sleep with the windows open. Minibar not working, with two bottles of water inside completely hot, and electrical system with a seriously defective card: the power was cut continuously, practically every few seconds. Due to the continuous power cuts we found ourselves completely in the dark several times, even when using the bathroom and shower. Even reading a few pages of a book before bed was impossible. The most serious thing is that at reception we were confirmed that these problems are known and not solvable, so these are not occasional episodes but structural problems of the structure. Beyond the kindness of the reception staff, which remained an end in itself, no concrete solution or compensation was proposed. Breakfast was also well below expectations for a hotel in this category, with modest overall quality and water served in self-service plastic bottles. Value for money absolutely unjustified. Highly compromised stay and structure that, personally, I would definitely not recommend.

Arrival late Tuesday evening, underground parking is full and parking outside a few meters from the hotel entrance. Too bad that on Wednesday morning there is the market and if you did not see the signs in the dark... car removed , lost day, 160 € gone. No notice at the hotel, no info at check in and of course no reply to the complaint email. Customer care this unknown.
