Hotel Benaco a Sirmione

We stayed for 2 nights and I must admit that the hotel manager Malika was kind and helpful in supporting our requests. The economy room without a balcony is not large, nor is the bathroom, but it is acceptable overall (I would define the sheets and the bed as good). The shower was small but decent, I think it was recently renovated. The air conditioning system is obsolete but it guarantees, albeit noisily, that you can sleep in acceptable comfort, meaning without any pretense of having a customizable temperature. The pool was unusable due to storm damage, so I will omit my judgment. The bathroom with a service shower is excellent. The well-covered parking is very good. The breakfast is varied with croissants, fruit, fruit juices, and a good savory section. I forgot my personal toiletries in the room at check-out, but it is what it is. Very close to Sirmione (about 3 km), therefore in a strategic position, with many restaurants in the surroundings, including a supermarket. Gianluca

Luckily, we only spent one night at Hotel Benaco. Unfortunately, the hotel infrastructure is very dated. Old carpets in all colors everywhere, the air conditioning in the room was unfortunately not functional, loud but ineffective... A temporary replacement air conditioner (which worked reasonably well) had disappeared from the room after dinner - apparently another guest complained even louder. The breakfast was mediocre, small selection and everything in the restaurant was also a bit dated... Conclusion: better not again!

AC does not cool but noisy, they ask extra for rooms with new and finctioning AC. The breakfast offering is poor. The hotel is somewhat dirty. The furniture is old yet the photos show a nice, stylish image. The hotel is certainly closer to ** than ***.
