City Hotel Varese

The City Hotel in Varese is very well placed for the Stazione. Do not be fooled by its self-rated 4*’s though. No ironing facilities in the room, which, as a business traveller is very inconvenient. The service, however, is very good. The staff friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very dated and can be noisy at night given the proximity to the train station. Was woken at 4am with a guy taking an angle-grinder to the pavement outside...Location is good, just make sure you book with the caveats in mind: central, breakfast is cold meat, cheese, dairy and toast; don’t bother with it; train station opposite and plenty of traffic around.

My Wife and I and two friends stayed at the City Hotel Varese, we found the hotel clean and tidy and ideally situated for trains and buses. It is also within easy walking distance from the centre of the city. The bus and train stations are directly opposite makeing it very easy to get around the area with a direct link to Malpensa T1 & T2 and also the lakes of Como and Maggiore. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good. We will use this Hotel again next time we visit. Thank for a lovely stay.

It was easy to find, but really hard to reach by car as there were a lot one way streets. So be accurate when you arrive. Good garage for car. Clean and good hotel. We were at the top floor and the room was quite new. Breakfast was average.
