Atlantic Palace

Very good hotel to use for a base to explore the region. Shuttle bus into sorrento that is complementary. We stayed half board the breakfast buffet had something for everyone including freshly prepared omelette, poached or fried eggs and fresh pancakes. Hot and cold buffet for each mealtime with lots to choose from. The roof top bar was an excellent way to finish the evening with a live singer, even the bar man Natalio joined in and had an excellent voice! Overall a very clean and accommodating hotel with good customer service and great food.

Well let’s start with the worst part…the food!! Oh my god, it was terrible! It’s a very strange set up. You get a starter, a main and you can help yourself to a small buffet. The wine isn’t included and a little bottle is 20 euro. The starter( pasta) was nice but the mains…disgusting ! I had pork in sauce with tasted like wall paper paste! The roasted potatoes looked nice but did not taste it, hence why they were given to us for breakfast the next day. Breakfast wasn’t great but there was a lovely lady called Antonine who made fresh omelettes and eggs. The main gentleman in restaurant was nice but the rest of the staff were rude and didn’t even acknowledge you. After our second day we just ate out as it was so bad! The bus into town was a bit of a mess about and the pool area is not as shown in pics! The pics shows nice sun-loungers but they actually have metal ones! Maybe it did look like that many years ago! The water looked quite grubby too! Now the good! The room was nice and clean. Great water pressure for a nice shower! Reception area was nice and again, clean! Cocktails were lovely too. There was a very pretty area with lime trees and a couple of hot tubs. Unfortunately there was so many mosquitoes around that it was a hot spot for getting bitten ( not the hotels fault). Basically I couldn’t wait to get home!

We really enjoyed this hotel. The food was exceptional. Not just breakfast which is plentiful but the main meals too which are more than a match for the more expensive restaurants in Sorrento itself. The location was perfect for a bit of peace in a really busy place but also close enough to shuttle in or use the 008 bus in between shuttle times. Do not get a taxi as the pricing is ridiculous. The staff were all great especially the lovely lady in reception and the chap who sorted some birthday flowers for me for my sister’s room on our arrival. Really can’t understand some of the negativity in the comments. We travel a lot and this hotel which has clean and spacious rooms was up there with our favourites. We would happily recommend it to others.
